Field Notes

Description:

Succulent-like fleshy leaves with serrated edges. Tiny plantlets grow along the edges complete with roots and leaves...the mother leaf lamina dries, detaches and falls to the ground where the the babies grow. The plant also bears tiny red flowers...will post when I find where the photo has disappeared.

Habitat:

Rarely a pampered potted plant; usually grows in neglected conditions. Very hardy.

Notes:

Bryophyllum is also called Pathor-kuchi in Bengali/ Bangla. Pathor= Stone. Kuchi= chips.
