Field Notes

Description:

The Daphne shrub was named after the Nymph, Daphne. It is an exquisite shrub bearing clusters of the most fragrant pink flowers, four or five parted on the ends of branches. One of the first to flower in the spring. Two years ago we had 100 feet of them along a field stone fence, but they suddenly disappeared after a wet season. Native to the area.

Habitat:

Prefer conditions such as are found in rockeries with perfect drainage and a cool root run.
