Description:

A large member of the Geometridae family, Epimecis hortaria, the Tulip-tree Beauty is gorgeous and a perfect example of evolutionary success resulting in camouflage.

Notes:

Lifer! I saw this first on May 27, the date of my spotting. The first photo was taken on the following day. I am quite confident they are the same individual as it was in the same general location at my light, and the moths tend to say until morning or until the light is turned off.
