Description:

family Lycaenidae
Brown ground colour with white blotches and lines, strongly chequered fringes and a long tail on the hindwing.

Habitat:

school garden

Notes:

The species is native of South Africa. It has been introduced to Mediterranean Europe, where it has spread as a pest.

too beautiful and pretty small... but now I'm afraid for my geranium plants all over the house! well as you said, they probably don't live here ;)

unfortunately, it is pest on cultivated Pelargonium, I was surprised when I found this beauty, according to books, they do not live here, probably are occupied this area...caterpillars eat first bud of plant, then interior of the stem...
