Field Notes

Description:

Small and plentiful cream to yellow colored eggs are loosely deposited within a silken retreat.

Habitat:

Wood Clapboard siding and deck rail on house. Alder trees, leaves.

Notes:

I try not to disturb the spider eggs until they hatch and disappear on their own. I have watched birds come to eat the spider eggs from the webs and corners of our windows and wood of our house.

I agree, I saw an extremely small cross orb spiderling which looked similar. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/26649103

Thank you turtlesandtombstones for your great input. Yes,they do look like Cross Orb Weaver. It would be more likely for that species eggs to be here since I have found many Orb Weavers and webs on the grounds. I am comparing the very similar species info. I will change my info to reflect Orb weaver. Thanks again
