Forests of pine, cypress, sycamore, and oak, in both swampy places and dry uplands. United States from llinois, Ohio, and New Jersey south to Missouri, Texas, Gulf Coast, and northern Florida.

Notes:

Abundant at Ritter Springs Park, Springfield, MO.
