Description:

A decorative small dragonfly, the male Calico Pennant, Celithemis elisa has red hearts down the dorsal side of its abdomen, a blood red patch on each of the inner hindwings, two black spots on each wing, and an orange mark on each of the wings.

Habitat:

Small freshwater pond.

Notes:

Lifer! This dragonfly was flying amongst the grasses of my pond.
