Description:
A large heron which looks somewhat different in color from the great blue herons that frequent this area. This is an immature, first year specimen.
Habitat:
Along an inland fresh water canal in western Boca Raton, FL
Notes:
The immature bird has less well-developed feathers with more different feather colors as seen especially in the second photo.
