Field Notes

Description:

Also know as Golden Bell, it is an evergreen shrub, with pointy leathery type leaves; named for its trumpet like flowers; can also be seen in colors of white, purple, pink, or orange; fruity scent.

Habitat:

They like to grow along riverbanks or somewhere out in the open, avoiding shade, and with adequate rainfall. I found this particular Allamanda in a school garden in Pla Pak, Thailand, indicating that sometimes they can be seen in roadside ditches or abandoned dumps or yards.
