Description:
因幼苗像是一枝枝懸掛的筆，而得名。
多年生常綠小喬木，高達4-5公尺，樹皮灰色到紅褐色，樹幹基部有淺枝根。單葉對生，厚革質，葉面光亮油綠，卵形到長橢圓形，長7-15公分，全綠，葉緣略反捲。花瓣白色，五枚，萼片五裂，宿存。果實會在母樹上長成胎生苗，成熟後掉落，隨潮汐散播。
