Field Notes

Description:

Small, black male Dung Beetle, 1 cm long. The elytra are deeply lined and the pronotum has four small protuberances. The small horn is located on the head which is shovel-shaped for pushing dung.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
