Field Notes

Description:

Moth 2 cm long with a green and brown wing pattern. Many scales were metallic. The underwings were bright orange with a dark apical band. The front legs are held out in front of the moth at rest and were very hairy. This helps dissimulate the shape of the moth when on bark.

Habitat:

Came to the parking lights of a shopping mall, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
