Description:
This is a slim, attractive and fast moving bird, often seen on rocky shores of fast flowing streams. It is about 20cm in length, and in comparison to other wagtails, it sports longer tail and shorter legs. It is mainly grey above, sports narrow white supercilium and mandibular stripe; and, in summer, is coloured brightly yellow below. In this position, wings, when folded, appear brown.
Habitat:
Seen on rocky shores of a fast flowing stream - Pic No5 shows a bit of its habitat. The stream, named Ljuta (meaning 'Angry one', describing its cold waters), starts from surrounding hills, and then flows through fertile and forested lowlands until it hits the Adriatic. Mediterranean environment, farmlands and woodlands.
