Field Notes

Description:

This morph is chocolate brown with only a faint dorsal stripe and lateral markings.

Habitat:

Under debris in non-native grassland, further located in a mosaic of hayfields, pasture, and variously-aged stands of Douglas-fir forest.

Notes:

Found with a lighter morph northwestern garter snake, and a common garter snake
