Thanks Karen! Is it a new one to the mission?
What a beauty & a great addition to the Spiders of Tennessee mission!
Thanks everyone for the kind words! It was an exciting find in my yard! :-)
I try to disturb anything I photograph as little as possible so that I get more natural poses and better photographs. Spiders will usually bolt if you disturb them too much so I try to just sneak in and get the shot. I rarely handle any of the insects. They do not seem to appreciate it so much and rarely cooperate after being handled.
Pirate spiders specialize in eating other spiders. They are harmless to humans. Nice spotting, Lisa.
I am with you Sckel, but Lisa knows how to handle, even dangerous ones. Thank you so much Lisa, for sharing your wonderful spotting with us.
Beautiful photo. Meeting many spiders, but I'm afraid to get close.
Thanks Maria dB and yeskay! I was very excited to find this one!
