Description:

The Red Winged Blackbird, named for the alarming red that marks the shoulder of this bird. Found throughout most of North America

Habitat:

Found in a wetland project in Boise amongst many other avians, including the closer relative Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus (The Yellow-headed Blackbird) Red Winged Blackbirds are often found wherever cattail is present.
