Description:

Low growing purple-pink wild flowers with an enormous clover-like leaf.

Habitat:

Abandoned field, semi-urban area, outskirts of San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Thank you Kristen, it sure does look like Violet Wood Sorrel except for those leaves! The color and pattern on the leaves looks right, but why all the divisions? Should I put a mutated Wood Sorrel? :) It also looks like Pink Wood Sorrel (Oxalis debilis var. corymbosa) which was found in the Andes. San Cristobal is also high, cool and forested. I'm not certain on the ID. I've never seen this plant reported growing in Chiapas and the leaf usually has three lobes, not five or more. Perhaps a mutation?
