Description:

58-66cm spotted swimming rather quickly along a large river.
Goosanders can live to 14yrs or more
2600 breeding pairs in the UK

Habitat:

Breeds close to slow running rivers in woods.
Outside of the breeding season can be seen on gravel pits and lakes. Rare but can also be seen in sheltered estuaries.
Feeds on a wide range of fish
