Field Notes

Description:

Large; narrow snout

Habitat:

This individual was observed in the St. Lucia estuary. Mangroves and emergent vegetation are established along the edges. The crocodilesw seemed to prefer open sandbars and mudflats where they basked.

Notes:

Hippos also occur here. We were shown photos of a crocodile that had been bitten in half by a hippo.
