Field Notes

Description:

A short plant maybe 12 in (30.48 cm) tall. The blue flowers grow in a ball shape and were closer to the ground.

Habitat:

Spotted in sagebrush steppe. Wenas Wildlife Area. Above 2000 ft.

Notes:

Native to Western North America from British Columbia to Utah. The Native Americans and settlers cooked the leaves and the roots of plants for greens.
