Thanks Jacob - it looks like a match to me & it is in range according to bamona.
Quite the tough one, I thought at first it was A. impleta, but yours seemed lighter and less mottled. I then checked A. spinigera, but the antemedial line was too bold in those photos. After reviewing all the pages of Moth Photographers Group for Acronicta, A. americana looks like the best match. It may be worth verifying, though.
