Field Notes

Description:

Lapara bombycoides is a medium-sized moth in the Sphingidae family. It is characterized by bold black markings and a chestnut-colored patch on the upper inside part of the forewing.

Habitat:

The larvae feed on Pine (Pinus sp.), which is quite common in my area.

Notes:

Lifer! At first I thought this was an Acronicta for some reason! :-)
