Description:

Medium sized, stocky spider. Dark coloration with minimal markings. Lighter color on center of thorax. Legs reddish brown. Female Wolf Spiders are very good mothers. They carry their eggs around in a sac attached at the spinnerets until the babies hatch. Once hatched, the mom spiders carry the young on their abdomens for a while until they are ready to disperse.

Habitat:

Sears Bellows County Park, New York. Wooded campground.

Notes:

She made an appearance on the ground as we were packing up our campsite. Light colored specks on the spider are pine pollen. Working on an ID. Suggestions welcome!
