Field Notes

Description:

Black with tiny yellowish dots on body. Pale gray underside. About 2 inches long.

Habitat:

Under a rotten board beside my house.

Notes:

3 of them were under the same board.

I'm not amazing with IDing salamanders, but I would call this a Slimy Salamander, Plethodon glutinosos. Only problem is its range in Maryland does not include the location you have on this map. There are not spots on the salamander like a Spotted Salamander, nor is this spotting in range for the Spotted Salamander.
