Giant Lichen Orbweaver

I've never seen anything like this spider before, looked more like a hermit crab to me! The abdomen is brown with green patterning, and the legs look to be orangish with stripes? The web was giant and spanned across the whole road, I drove through it the day before and got it all over my face but he rebuilt it so I went around it the next day :)
