Description:
Benibotarus thoracicus, although widespread, is an uncommon to rare beetle in the family Lycidae, is characterized by rust-colored "shoulders" on the upper parts of the elytra. The rest of the beetle is completely black.
Habitat:
Found on the side of our barn, and moved to a nearby tree.
