Field Notes

Description:

This is the tiniest Lycaenid I have ever seen. It was about 9 mm long and I've never seen it before. It is mostly white with brown and only a small amount of blue on the inner angles of the wings and on the upper side of the body. One upper wing was missing and it was resting on a ledge.

Habitat:

In the street, semi-urban area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Notes:

Could this be a female of Hemiargus ceraunus? http://www.treknature.com/gallery/photo218281.htm
