Description:

Metallic blue and yellow Leaf Beetle, 1.5 cm long. Family Chrysomelidae. For pictures of the larvae see:

Habitat:

Abandoned field, semi-urban area, outskirts of San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters. They only feed (as both larvae and adults) on leaves of the native Manzanita Tree, Crataegus mexicana. (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crataegus_mexicana)
