Description:

Very small very awesome. Sorry for the bad picture, taken through plastic. I think it's the same as the frogs at my house that have been identified as Pacific Treefrogs.

Habitat:

Very found in grass But lives in trees

Notes:

I'm spending time with a group of children and we are posting their findings to my Project Noah account. We have to use my cell phone. Any advice?

I took a good look at Sierran Tree Frog and I think you are probably right. Thank you

It was very tiny, maybe the 3/4 inch or smaller. I'm used to Pacific Tree Frogs across town at my house. This was smaller than them. The frog was in a plastic container these boys had put it in to protect it. That's why the pic is so bad. They found it on the grassy playing field.

This was a tough ID because of the image. Try resting your hands on something while taking the picture to stabilize. If this is possible to do without disturbing the animal too much, try placing them on a background that is even and contrasts with their coloration. It also never hurts to take too many pictures. Maybe one will come out. Does this size description sound about right: "Adults are 3/4 - 2 inches long from snout to vent (1.9 - 5.1 cm)." http://www.californiaherps.com/frogs/pages/p.sierra.html#description The mask, coloration, behavior, and location leads me to think you have a Sierran Treefrog.
