Found this sawfly larva on my porch during a storm. Thanks to @Aaron_G for ID help!

Looks like we both commented at the same time and ended up with the same ID! I think that's what it is.
Do you think it could be an elm sawfly (Cimbex americana) larva?
I only got mine to genus due to the host plant it was on. You don't have that luxury since it was off the plant. Try looking at the elm sawfly and see if it matches up: http://bugguide.net/node/view/350677
Neat! This one had a dorsal "stripe" that was basically a whole bunch of small blue rectangles outlined in black.
