Field Notes

Description:

The claspers on the male (shown) look like a series of dangerous sickles and knives out of a kung fu horror film!

Habitat:

Marshes, bogs, streams, muddy ponds.

Notes:

A rather uncommon ode in Wisconsin, I was fortunate to find this population a couple of years ago. Decided to spend a morning trying to capture some better photographs.
