Description:

Compared to many other leaf beetles, Labidomera clivicollis is huge! It appears to have the same basic appearance of Scarabaeidae, but is actually a Chrysomelidae! What I found interesting to read about was

Habitat:

Larva feed on many species of milkweed.

Notes:

Lifer!

Part of the orange and black milkweed mimicry complex, which includes the Monarch Butterfly (Danaus plexippus) and related, Milkweed Longhorns (Tetraopes sp.), Lygaeus kalmii, Oncopeltus fasciatus, and possibly more.
