Dan is right, definately from Australia. This is a Grevillea, though which one, I couldn't say. They're beautiful flowers, the native birds love them here for their nectar :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grevillea
Doesn't look native, looks like a Banksia from Australia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banksia
