Field Notes

Description:

A mostly gray bird with long, pointed wings located far up on the body.

Habitat:

Found this guy in an old building in piney woods. It was at night so a friend and I walked in with bright lights, which I guess startled this guy and he started flying around everywhere and hit the ground kind of hard. We had a really lightweight net with us so we put it over him for a little bit until he settled down some. Then my friend reached under the net and grabbed him and we made sure he was fine, then we dimmed our lights and put him back on the wall and left quietly. I peeked back in there a little bit later and he was fine :)
