I have no secrets, literally just wander the woods look around no looking for anything in particular. The recent rains have really encouraged the fungi in the Sioux City area but now they're dying back. If you look, most of my spotting are in a local county park (like 90%.) Also, feel free to add stuff to my mission "Iowan Biodiversity" which I see you joined. Best of luck!
You have found so many cool fungi and mushrooms in your area, it's amazing. I only get lucky finding a nice variety when I'm camping in the Boundary Waters.. Your spots give me hope that I can still find awesome stuff in Iowa.. Tell me your secrets!
