I doubted this ID because of the white flash at the wing tip, but I should have known better than to question Newan's impeccable research. I found an identical image on this site: http://pbh-butterflies.yolasite.com/philippine-butterflies.php#Nymphalidae item number 393. It seems to be a sub-species only found in the Philippines. I was unable to identify which sub species though. A good reference site with a few pics on it. Dave
