Description:

It's a very beautiful butterfly belonging to the family Ithomiidae. Lonely individuals may be observed flying in the lower parts of the forest. Both sexes visit flowers of Psychotria, Hamelia and Chomelia. It is distinguished by the black line on the hind wings spanning the disc area and the back of the abdomen is orange.------------------------------ Es una mariposa muy hermosa, perteneciente a la familia Ithomiidae . Pueden ser observados individuos solitarios, volando en las partes bajas del bosque. Ambos sexos visitan flores de Psychotria, Hamelia y Chomelia. Se distingue por la línea negra sobre las alas posteriores que atraviesa el área discal y la parte dorsal del abdomen que es de color naranja.

Habitat:

Restricted to the Pacific slope in Panama and Colombia, associated with deciduous forest habitats, from sea level to 1,300 m.---------------------------- Restringida a la vertiente del Pacífico en Panamá y Colombia, asociada con hábitats de bosque deciduo, desde el nivel del mar hasta 1,300 m.
