Field Notes

Notes:

Pale Male is probably the most famous Red-tailed Hawk in the world. He has a whole Wikipedia page (referenced).
His nest is on a Fifth Avenue building right next to Central Park. The picture isn't great, since I didn't want to walk around Central Park with my big camera. A point and shoot was much easier to carry around the city and probably a lot safer.

When we were in Central Park, Pale Male was what we wanted to see the most. After finding the nest near the top of a building, the female flew in than a minute later Pale Male flew in too. He moved around in the trees in the park, not paying much attention to the hundreds of people walking past him.
