Field Notes

Description:

Erebidae; Erebinae; Euclidiini; Mocis sp. This moth was easy to identify as Mocis sp. simply because there is a picture which looks exactly like it in Philippine Lepidoptera's Erebinae section and that one is named Mocis sp. What led me to that section in PhiLep was that I could see that this moth had much of the style of Mocis undata, not enough to make me think it might actually be undata, but I knew that I would be in the right "ball park" and there it was.

Habitat:

Spotted on foliage in a rice field which has been allowed to rest and grow wild this year.
