Field Notes

Habitat:

This fly was spotted on unidentified foliage in the backyard of an old farmhouse in the middle of some rice fields.

Notes:

The insect looks like a Soldier Fly and it appears to be similar to some flies of the Genus Sargus, displayed in bugguide.net. The problem is that I cannot find any mention of this genus being present in Southeast Asia. So, for now, I think Stratiomyidae is the best I can do.
