Description:

Small Nest (15mm L) in a wood temple, maybe made by a wasp.
Some wasp make nests chewing dead wood and mixing it with saliva and lettting it dry

Probably from wasps but I haven't see any
What size? Potter wasps make a small nest of mud. Paper wasps make a large nest of chewed vegetation giving it a very papery look.
Carpenter bees don't make nests like this. They find and use holes already in wood. This is probably a potter wasp of some kind.
