Habitat:

The weeds and reeds along the shoreline of a marsh was wonderful for dragonfly viewing.

Thank you for the info. I usually photograph shore birds and eagles, but the skies were quiet yesterday and the dragonflies caught my eye. Took a lot of shots and I think I'll pick up a guide.

Definitely a female, as indicated by the subgenital plate near the tip of the abdomen (looks like an upside-down shark fin). My best guess: Seaside Dragonlet dragonfly (Erythrodiplax berenice).
