I have seen F.silvestris silvestris in Scotland.They are becoming rare because they interbreed with feral domestic cats.This could be the case here.Do you have a side on view.The tail should be banded all the way around,with two large dark bands and fainter bands and a black tip. And it seems to have a lot of black.But having said that this looks good.The head markings and whiskers.are right.
I can't tell you which but I had never heard of the wild cat before so thanks for planting the seed for me to water!
