Field Notes

Description:

Annual herb. Erect or rising hairy stem, simple or bifurcated, up to 30 cm. Basal leave simple or with two lateral foliole. Inflorescences (glomerulous) have 7-9 flowers, with a bractea 3-5 pinnasect, longer than the flowers. The flowers measure ca. 9 mm. Calyx are hairy, asymmetric, with 5 parts.

Synonymy: Anthyllis cornicina

Habitat:

Distribution : Spain, Morocco, Portugal
Common in prairies on siliceous sandy soils.
Spotted at the margin of sandy path between pine trees and Holm oaks
