Description:
Eristalinus arvorum (Fabricius, 1787), of subgenus Lathyropthalmus, is distributed in China, Australia (Qld), Hawaiian Is, Micronesia, Northern Marianas, and Southeast Asia. It has a very distinctive eye marking in the form of spots. E. arvorum is an important insect pollinator in fruit setting of apple and mango.

Habitat:
Backyard garden, spotted on Yellow Alder flower (Turnera ulmifolia).
