Description:

A mating pair! Orange, brown and black. Looks like male and female have very different wing patterns. Could be P. cocyta or P. tharos.

Both northern and pearl crescents occur in your area. According to Opler and Wright (1999), these species are difficult to distinguish, and they may rarely hybridize.
