Field Notes

Description:

± 15 cm lizard - black with obvious yellowish brown lines.

Habitat:

Arid semi desert of the Tankwa Karoo National Park.

Notes:

This one hung around for a few close ups.

Species ID Suggestions

Comments (3)

Striped Sandveld Lizard (Nucras taeniolata) or Karoo Sandveld Lizard (Nucras livida). Leaning more to the last since the first is not really indicated in this region.
Johan also has a keen eye! Lets hope he recognize it and ID soon! Thanks Ashley!
