Field Notes

Description:

± 20 cm - Dried out and brittle. By the looks of it this poor tortoise got swept away by a flash flood and ended up on its back, we found it with all its bones inside the skull except the head.

Habitat:

Found on a hill side of the arid semi desert of the Tankwa National Park.

Notes:

Could very well be the Leopard Tortoise.
