Description:
The wasp reaches a body length of 13-19 millimeters. It differs from the other sand wasps well by their red-colored front and middle pairs of legs. Fly from June to September. They live in a hole in the ground, hunt caterpillars, mainly Geometridae, and feed their brood.

school garden, sandy area
