Description:

Small bright gold-colored beetle. Also known as a Metallic Wood-boring Beetle Measured abouy 3/4 inch long. The buprestidae family is among the largest of the beetles, with some 15,000 species known in 450 genera. In addition, almost 100 fossil species have been described.

Habitat:

Shore of Pyamtuning Lake, Andover OH, Ashtabula County, USA

It will probably be difficult to get a species but this looks similar to a couple of species. They are called Metallic Wood-boring Beetles here in North America. Family Buprestidae: http://bugguide.net/node/view/162/bgpage Hope this helps!
